I am a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Clinical Fellow of the American/Ontario Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (A/OAMFT).In addition to being a Clinical Fellow of the Canadian Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT).
I am also a certified member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). I graduated from Tyndale University in 1999 with a Master of Divinity Degree (with a specialization in counselling). In 2015, I also graduated with a Master of Psychology degree from the Adler Graduate Professional School. I am a life-long learner and would consider myself a "professional student". I am currently completing my provisional hours in the Province of Alberta as a Registered Provisional Psychologist.
I am hoping to help you (and/or your partner/family) in your journey towards wellness by being able to cope with the struggles you may be experiencing. By working with me, I am hopeful that you will be able to draw upon your own experiences (just like I did) in order to bring your life back into equilibrium.
I will be joining Danny Seto’s practice as a practicum student this September, working under his supervision for the next several months, and he will be doing the initial intake. I hope to provide the space for others to define and gain insight into their own experience, as I strive to understand and support my client as well as collaborate in the therapeutic relationship to create a plan for therapy.
I have experience working with children, adults, and some families. In my past internship, I have employed music-based interventions including therapeutic songwriting, music improvisation, and guided meditation with music, followed by verbal processing and reflection. I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach with an interest in mindfulness-based practices and the principle of non-judging. I also have developed an interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Justin is probably your first point of contact at the clinic. Since September, 2020, Justin has been the administrative assistant at the clinic. In addition to scheduling, taking care of intake forms and responding to daily emails, Justin also is responsible for all tech-related issues. In addition to working at the clinic, Justin is a personal fitness trainer, nutritionist coach, and a junior web designer (he also created this website!). His regular hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 am - 6 pm (though if you are lucky, you may hear from him on a different date and time!). He can be reached by email at email@example.com
